After quite a bit of time using Korean Cosmetics, I have to admit that I get surprised when I use an item for the first time.
It took me two years after converting to Asian beauty products to try my first Korean Lipstick.
Why did it take so long? Because I am so obsessed with Lip tints that I had no time for Lipsticks.
I decided to go for the Etude House My Blooming Lips line since people say that they are very good for the price and because they had a very pretty looking shade of Burgundy with an appealing name.
A very lovely lady from Reddit made a swap with me a few months ago and she included this lipstick in her package.

As I mentioned before, I am not huge on Lipsticks right now, I prefer to use something that I can put on and forget about for the rest of the day.
That being said, Lipsticks are still part of my make up routine but they do have to be very special for me to actually use them instead of tints.
Unfortunately, I don’t categorize this one as special.
Not because it isn’t good but simply because it lacks the WOW factor for me.

The embossing is so beautiful!

The packaging is very cute, but unlike what I usually write about, I don’t use an item just because it looks nice on the outside.
The lipstick smells very nice, not really something I can describe, but different than most lipsticks.
It is very faint and only noticeable when whiffed in directly.
The color is very pretty but unfortunately too red for me.

It has a satin finish

 I prefer very very dark Burgundies or browner coagulated type shades.
This is like a dark cherry red, definitely in the Burgundy family but on the light side.
The color can be applied as a light berry wash or layered to be quite bright and opaque.
The texture is lovely and smooth, it is on the moisturizing type without being a balmy lipstick.
It doesn’t feather or move around and can be applied without a lip liner.
I prefer to use it with the liner though, since it makes the color even darker.

It is very pretty but too red for me

 It has normal lipstick lasting times but fades nicely and evenly.
It leaves a rosy stain behind when it starts fading after about 2 hours.
This is a lovely lipstick for people who still prefer them over other types of lip colors.
It is also perfect for the ones who like a lighter more tame Burgundy.
