Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum and Rich Moist Soothing Cream review

Finally the long awaited second part of the Klairs line for sensitive skin!
Today I will be talking about the serum and the cream.
For the review about the sheet mask and the toner you can hop on over here.
I like that it comes with a protective cap!

Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum (50ml)
Introducing the best skin care serum, Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum
A magical skin care serum that makes your skin softer and replenished with moisture.
Keep your skin radiant and glowing throughout the day !

Let me start with the serum.
I gotta be honest, I was not a huge fan of this. It is hard to judge products when tested in a whole line since that really changes things. The thing is that this serum worked really well together with the rest of the products. It was soothing, lightly hydrating and simply played well with the others.
Used alone, the product simply didn’t stand out. Not that it is a bad product, but it didn’t impress me either. I assume a serum to be the strongest part of my skincare when it comes to actives, which is why I expect it to make the biggest difference to my skin.
This did not happen with the serum.

It smells just like the rest of the line, fresh and possibly slightly floral.
The scent is not strong and doesn’t linger on my face.
The serum is transparent and watery.
It has thickness to the consistency but it sinks in fast.
It is soothing and hydrating yet dries matte.

It is suitable for any skin types and simply works great on sensitive skin.
I can feel that my skin is calmed down after using it which is nice.
It is not a hydrating bomb as I expected but adds a moderate amount of hydration.
I feel like it is not strong enough for my super dry face but worked great on Johnnys normal skin.

Rich Moist Soothing Cream (50ml)
Formulated for normal to dry skin, this concentrated facial cream provides immediate and long-term hydration for a radiant complexion. An infusion of yeast-derived beta glucan supports the skin's natural defense system and improves repair capabilities. It is simply the best moisturizer for face!

I liked the cream more than the serum and it was mostly for its finish.
I love that the cream dries matte but in a very natural way.
On Johnny it looked natural and fresh in a glowy but matte way.
The cream is relatively thick in appearance but feels lighter on the face.
It has the same soft scent as the rest of the line.

It is just as soothing as all the others too and it did definitely help to calm my face while it was going through its little redness phase.
It is moderately moisturizing but works well on normal, combo or oily skin.

To me this is a wonderful line for sensitive skin and works by itself for normal to oily skin.
If you have dry or very dry skin you might want to add a facial oil. The reason being that this line is quite hydrating but lacks oils. Since my face hardly produces any natural oils, I need these added to my skincare for my face to be in its best state. When I started using this line by itself I noticed that even though my face was well hydrated, it started getting drier. After adding a facial oil to the routine ( I mixed it into the cream) my face looked great. I noticed that the redness was reduced, my spots healed faster and I stopped getting new ones. I am happy with the results!
On Johnnys normal yet sensitive skin it worked even better. I did not add anything to his routine and his face just looked nicer by the day. This line confirmed my suspicions that he gets spots when he is using products his skin isn’t happy with. I remember about two weeks into the testing phase I asked him “what have you done to your face, you look so smooth and glowing!”.
Well, it was this line and his skin has really been looking great since!

I really like the matte finish yet his skin looked lit from within and velvety

This simply shows me that you really need to adjust your routine to your own skins needs.

Chosungah Viva Pep Souffle in Burgundy Rose review

Chosungah Viva Pep Souffle in Burgundy Rose (20 ml)

Oh my oh my was I lusting after this! The first time I saw the Viva Pep Souffle I was knocked of my feet since a few things I am obsessed about came together in just that one product.
Those things are in no particular order for anyone interested: Anything moussy, burgundy/blood colored, tiny jars.
It took me a little while to hunt this down at a decent price and I finally found it at Koreadepart.
It was a huge nightmare getting this, which you can read all about here.

Onto the product itself.
As you can see it is adorable!
The jar is just like the tiny Bonne Maman marmelade jars and the product does indeed look moussy. The Burgundy is less fluffy than the other two (haven’t tried them out just opened the jars to see what they looked like) but still moussy enough to be, well, moussy.

I was astonished when I realised how much product there really is in the jar.
You need really little of this to do anything really, so I believe that this would last someone a lifetime.
The texture turns into something creamy and gel like when picked up with a brush.
If you are trying to use this on your lips, a brush is very recommended to be able to make proper lip lines. If you are going for a stain, fingers are fine.
Be careful though since this stuff is super duper ultra pigmented and you will have a red finger for hours.
When used as a stain even less is need.

I really loved this on my lips to be honest. Every time I wore it I got lots of compliments.
I even saw Johnnys jaw drop a little when testing it! He tried to hide it with a cough but it didn’t work.
He usually never notices when I am testing or even wearing makeup and when I do gussy up I never receive compliments. He actually likes a bare face more than makeup, even though he is fond of some things like black lips. So getting a compliment from him every time I wear this is a huge accomplishment to be honest. But it is a really beautiful color so I agree with him!
I might even go as far as saying it is the perfect burgundy
*gasp!*
I personally like it even darker but I think this is the shade that should be in the explanation box of how burgundy actually looks like.

The product is also very long lasting.
It might look like a lipstick but it acts like a stain.
The color stays bright for hours and then slowly fades naturally.
You will have color on your lips for possibly around 10 hours. After the bright red fades a little I start applying lip balm which makes it fade a little faster but doesn’t interfere with the color. Something that is important for my dry lips.

The only downside to this is that it is a pain to apply.
Well not really a pain but it isn’t as easy or fast as products that come with an applicator.
I honestly think that Chosungah should forgo the adorable jar and just stick it into some kind of liquid lipstick/stain type container. It would make things easier. But if you are used to applying lip products with a brush this should be no issue for you.
I also used it as a blush which works well too. I do recommend mixing it with either foundation or moisturiser since the product dries very fast. This makes it easier to blend naturally instead of having red blotches on your cheek.

The set comes with a spatula
Ingredients:Can't find any, possibly on the back of the packaging?

Rating: 1.Blegh  2. Pff  3. Meh  4. Oohh  5. Awwyeah 6. Wooha
If this would be in a different packaging it would go straight to HG for me but since I am way too lazy and practical I will probably only reach for this in special occasions. I do think the color is absolutely gorgeous though and a must have for burgundy lovers.

Iope Moistgen Skin Hydration Special Gift Set review

2:10 PM Moi Sanom 0 Comments

Did you know that my favorite types of skincare products are actually travel packs?
I like them more than samples or full sized products actually! They are cheap, practical and large enough to test between 2 - 4 weeks. Samples can be too small to properly test and full sizes are just huge! Especially as a blogger, I get to test a lot and I often have full sizes standing around not doing anything. I have to admit that even before being a blogger, I liked to experiment with skincare (due to never finding anything that worked for me) and travel sizes were my go to. Also, I like trying a whole line of products and even some that I would normally not buy.
You can image how happy I was when Honestskin sent me two different travel sets to try out!
Today, as you can cleverly deduct by the title, I will be reviewing the Moistgen line by Iope.
I tested all of the items separately for a short time and finished testing the whole line for about two weeks.
Wow is this moisturising!

Moistgen Essential Softener
Let me start with the softener.
I really liked this product actually! It is a quite hydrating toner that is very mild and watery. The whole line smells the same, kind of a fresh citrusy smell, but this softener is not very strong in the scent department. I felt that it added hydration to my skin, in a light way that was quite refreshing.
All in all I would be happy to have this in my line up again.

PH: 4.5
Ingredients: Couldn't find them

Rating: 1.Blegh  2. Pff  3. Meh  4. Oohh  5. Awwyeah 6. Wooha

Moistgen Essential Serum
The serum was lovely as well. It is a creamy milky serum that hydrates, but I could tell it had some oils in it too, which makes it moisturising yet lightweight.
It smells just like the softener but once again in an unobtrusive way.
I liked the silkiness of the serum and it was pleasant to apply to my face.

Serum

Moistgen Essential Emulsion
Next up is my least favorite of the line. Well, that might be a deceiving statement.
I actually liked it but I believe it didn’t fit into the line up too well.
More on that later though.
As a stand alone product, I did like the emulsion. Its a liquidy milky type product that is neither too runny nor too thick. Just as the two above, it smells the same just a tiny bit stronger. Keep in mind I am very scentsitive so you might not even notice it. It doesn’t linger once applied to the face which is what I am looking for in skincare.  It is just as smooth as the rest of the line but unlike the softener and the serum this doesn’t sink in as fast. It seems to be quite occlusive and feels like it creates a protective layer on my face. I think this might be a great product for very dry and dehydrated skin and alone it does help with those issues if it is used in a hydration heavy routine.

Emulsion

Moistgen Essential Eye Cream
I am very uninterested in eye creams and I have never gotten excited about them before. The good thing about this one is that it is very lightweight yet hydrating. It didn’t give me milia or any weird little bumps around my eyes that some products produce. It also did not make my eczema flare up which is very important to me.
I do think that it is a decent eye cream if you are looking for one to hydrate your skin. If you are looking for miracles, try a fairy since I have not used a single eye potion that has actually done more than just hydrate.

PH: 5
Ingredients: Couldn't find them

Rating: 1.Blegh  2. Pff  3. Meh  4. Oohh  5. Awwyeah 6. Wooha
Eye Cream
Moistgen Essential Cream
I liked the cream too. Its a thicker type but still has a level of freshness to it which makes it feel lighter than it looks. If you have very dry or dehydrated skin you might know how soothing refreshing products feel. I don’t particularly like watery products but when one feels fresh on my face it just seems like it is hydrating quite a bit. Might be just a personal preference but I like it.
As mentioned before it smells just the same, a little less intense then the emulsion but once again it isn’t noticeable when used on the face.
It sinks in quite fast as well which I also appreciate. This cream is not super duper moisturising by itself but plays really well with the rest of the line. I think for moderately dry or normal skin this would work well but if you need something super powerful I would combine it with the rest of the Moistgen line.

PH: 5
Ingredients: Couldn't find them

Rating: 1.Blegh  2. Pff  3. Meh  4. Oohh  5. Awwyeah 6. Wooha
Cream

All in all I really liked using all of these products in combination besides the emulsion. The reason being that when I added the emulsion to the mix my skin felt a little overwhelmed. I think it is because the emulsion doesn’t let the cream sink into my skin. So I skipped the emulsion during the day and added it at night. This way my face was very hydrated and felt great during the colder winter weeks.
I think that if you have normal to dry skin this line (sans emulsion) would work great. For very dry and dehydrated skin this line can be a great pick me up for the colder months. The toner and the serum are suitable for any skin type and the cream would work for normal to dry skin by itself as well.
I am glad I got to try this line since I already am a fan of Iope and I hope I get to try more of their products.

Dear Batlings, the month of March seems to be your lucky month!
Here I have another giveaway for you, this time it is presented by Wishtrend.
Wishtrend is a store I really like to order from for its unusual products and good service with really fast shipping times.
There is a few items I have gotten from there that have either not been available anywhere else at that time or are only to be found on their site outside of Korea. My beloved C20 is one of them and my favorite AHA gel by Papa Recipe (review coming up soon) can also only be found there too. As a blogger that tries out a lot of products and brands, I always appreciate some novelty!

Today the products given away are new to me as well.
The one that tickles my fancy the most is an intriguing looking honey mask that promises to give you lots of hydration. I love everything honey and there can never be too much hydration on my face so this sounds very promising.
The other prize is a primer/skincare product that seems to be a good multi use product for people that have dark spots. It promises to prime your skin giving it a glow while treating dark spots at the same time.

There will be two winners, one for each prize. Please leave a comment on which product you would prefer to get, otherwise I will have to choose at random. I would rather have you get the one that suits you best of course! As usual the giveaway is open internationally.

Since having a Wishtrend account is one of the requirements, I have a coupon code " 021617712" for those who don’t have an account yet. It gives you a 5$ discount upon signing up. Yay for savings!

Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask and Supple Preparation Facial Toner review

12:11 PM Moi Sanom 0 Comments

http://www.wishtrend.com/skin-care/190-moisturizing-face-mask-klairs.html?a_aid=35thofMay

A few months ago I was kindly sent a Klairs set by Wishtrend. That set couldn’t have come at a better time. I was going through a bad spot with my skin due to some health issues which caused it to be more sensitive and also have some spots.
That was at about the same time that Johnny Clydes products ran out to. His skin is super picky and sensitive as well and if products don’t work well for him he gets lots of spots too. So the moment skincare that work well for him run out is always a strange time since testing new skincare can go wrong really fast.

http://www.wishtrend.com/skin-care/418-the-best-facial-toner-klairs-supple-preparation-facial-toner.html?a_aid=35thofMay

So why was I so happy to receive this set? Not because I have no skincare at home (believe me I need to actually give some away before it starts getting embarrassing) but because I never have the kind of skincare I need when our skin goes through weird phases.
In this case, what I really needed was products for sensitive skin, and Klairs thankfully delivered.

For todays episode I will review the infamous Sheet mask and the Toner.

Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask (23ml)
Half bottle of soothing essence. Unique formula from Klairs pure cotton sheet. No irritation.

I have read a lot of reviews about this sheet mask.
It definitely seems to be a favorite of many bloggers around.
As mentioned before I am not a sheet mask fan. I have some, I use them, but I don’t enjoy them particularly.
The reason being that they are cold and wet. I have a slight water phobia and cold is not a state of being I enjoy.
Also when I wear them I feel a little constrained but yeah, I am a little odd, so just keep that in mind.

The fabric was very soft and quite thin
Oddness aside, I generally judge sheet masks by their performance and how effective they are compared to other sheet masks.
Even though I am not a fan, I have tried quite a variety of types and brands, so I feel like I have enough to compare them to.
This sheet masks texture is very smooth and soft, it is really soaked in essence without dripping.
I used the leftover liquid that was left in the bag two times that day which I always appreciate.
The essence smells fresh but quite neutral and fragrance free. It is definitely soothing and cooling.
My main concern was redness, since my skin was not very happy that day.
My secondary concern was hydration for my dry dry skin.
The mask definitely delivered to both those issues.
My skin was noticeably hydrated and I feel that the redness was also reduced. It is definitely a gentle sheet masks.

You can see that the red spots and other redness was reduced in the after photo

I don’t think this is a miracle mask but if you are looking for something gentle, soothing and hydrating this sheet mask is a good start.

Dear Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner (150ml)
The best facial toner formulated with plant extract, this toner balances the skin’s PH level and boost the effectiveness of your entire skincare regime.

Today seems to be the day I review products I am generally not a fan of. Toners are definitely one of those meh products for me. Surprisingly, this Klairs toner was one of my favourites of this line.
The strange thing about this is that I can not really put my finger on the reason why I liked this.
I just do.
I will try to explain but I might fail.
I guess you just have to let me know by the end of this review if my liking reason came across at all.

This is a watery toner, with a touch of stringiness that is very common in Korean toners.
Unless you are carefully analysing the toner, it will feel and look just like water.
I can’t really explain the smell of it. It is natural, possibly flowery but very faint.

Believe me, I am very sensitive to scents and have a good nose, (to the point were I smell things when others don’t) the scent is barely there if you are worried about such things.
The toner is soothing and cooling when applied and sinks in quite fast. I apply this by patting it in with my hands, sometimes sort of hugging my face while doing that instead of a fast pat.

The toner definitely adds hydration to my routine. Nothing major but noticeable.
It might be quite a bit more hydrating for people with less saharic skin than mine. While I was testing the toner out by itself, I enjoyed it the most for its soothing properties. A word I have used a little too often in this review already. But that is really at what this line excels, soothing and healing.
I felt that my skin really started to calm down when this was introduced. My red parts became less red and my skin simply felt healthier.
The hydration in combo with the healing ingredients improved my skin noticeably.

I really liked the entire line and noticed that the products work great together. Since they all have similar ingredients, I definitely noticed that my skin improved faster using them all together than separate. If I had to choose only one product from this line it would be the toner, though.
I simply liked it a lot and it fits so well into my routine.

Ingredients: Here
PH: 4.5

This toner is suitable for any skin types but really excels at soothing and healing sensitive or damaged skin.
