Johnny Clyde Reviews: Naris Up Egg Shell pack

http://www.cubbees.com/v2/products/Naris%252dup-Natural-Pack-A-Peel-Mask.html

Naris Up Egg Shell pack (100gr)
Made in Japan, a gentle once weekly peel mask for all skin types, especially good for blackheads, acne and sallow skin. Eggshell membrane extract and collagen work together to smooth and moisturize.

For best results:
Cleanse skin and pat dry. Squeeze mask onto fingertip and apply thin layer over entire face, avoid areas around eyes, nose, brows, etc. Wait 10 minutes or until the mask is dry, then peel off from top to bottom. You can rinse, or follow with moisturizing, lightening, etc.
Use no more than twice a week, and discontinue use immediately if your skin is irritated by use.

Naris Up Egg Shell pack
box and tube
Naris Up Egg Shell pack is a product used to rip the dirt right out of your pores!
That's as brutal as it sounds.
From your pores perspective, they're sitting there on your nose with their little dirt speck buddies waiting to have a good time, when from up above comes a wondrous white blanket angel!
The blanket angel falls down softly, covering everything and everyone the pores and dirt specks know.
Naris Up Egg Shell pack swatch
Droplet of the egg shell pack to the left, and to the right blanketet
The angel blanket whispers such delightful things to them as it hardens.
The pores and dirt specks barely even notice!
Just when things seem to be going perfectly, the blanket angel removes itself ferociously, taking all the dirt speck friends with it!
Blanket Angel is a straight up friend stealer!

Well, that's what this product would like you to believe.
In reality, the blanket angel comes down from the heavens, hardens, and leaves all alone to die somewhere in a dark corner by itself.
Leaving all the pores and dirt specks to party forever.
This product smells like glue, feels like glue, looks like glue, and it works like glue.

Yummy!
(Glue doesn't really work at all)
My pores were just as dirty before as after.

Naris Up Egg Shell pack
Before left;                                            after right
So no real point in using it.
Real waste of time, really.
I'll look back on this day thinking of all the cool things I could have done instead of trying to strip my pores of their friends.
It didn't even hurt ripping off the product!

All beautifying things are supposed to hurt, right?
Nothing!
Tickled a little, but that's not the feeling you want when you're trying to ruin life long relationships on your nose.
You don't want it to 'tickle' you want it to bleed!

Naris Up Egg Shell pack strip
See no blood! Just a few sad dead skin cells

Rating:
Overall I give this product a 1 because it's a total waste of time and does seriously actually nothing at all.

Purchased at Adambeauty

Mois thought:
Johnny Clyde got it right (ha a rhyme! Johnny Clyde begs to differ but he doens't know anything about Rhymes!)
Besides the blood part of course! Please don't hurt yourself until you bleed only to clean out your pores, but besides that, yes he got it right!
Its pretty much just like putting white glue on your face!
I have never found it to be helpful cleaning out pores or giving my face any skin care benefits what so ever.
It does leave your skin smoother then before since it takes some dead skin cells with it, but I find there is better ways to achieve that even though this is gentle enough.
I wish I could read Japanese so I would know what is in this stuff!
This was a cheap impulse buy, which turned out to be my first Asian skin care dud so far.
I still have a good track record with Japanese products though, so this one doesn't deter me from trying out more.

Rating:  I give this one a 2.
I don't hate it and it didn't hurt me.
I will save my 1 for a real doozy!

Which movie am I gonna watch tonight?

3:45 PM Moi Sanom 2 Comments

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oldboy_%282013_film%29

Today I will do a double review of Oldboy, the original and the remake.
For starters I want to try to review the remake as a stand alone movie and then compare it to the original.

Unfortunately my opinion is already a little biased since I watched the original Oldboy last year.
So since I am cursed with an awful memory I remember hardly anything, but I do remember tiny bits and pieces.
That being said I think if you watch the remake without knowing the original you will probably like it more than I did.

Oldboy
2013
Directed by Spike Lee
Starring: Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley

http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/oldboy-official-poster-spike-lee-2013-remake/

So the first 45 minutes of this film were really boring and crappy to me.
It was so all in your face.
Everything about it really.
It was all in your face about how much of a jerk the main character is, and all the other  super obvious clues they give you are quite obnoxious to me, since they make me feel like the film makers assume I am too stupid to get subtle clues.
The film then starts doing the typical Hollywood character development that we have seen time and time again, which to be honest is simply predictable and boring.
After that the movie gets a tiny bit less boring, but not less predictable.

http://horrorcultfilms.co.uk/2013/09/new-oldboy-poster-shows-revenge-mad-brolin-with-hammer-in-hand/

And without giving you any spoilers, about 30 minutes before it ends it does get sort of interesting. This is the part that I think the people out there, who have no idea what this film, or the original are about, might find a little interesting.

But that doesn't really make a film good, right?
I have to say I am disappointed at Spike Lee, since I really like his work, but also relieved when I found out he didn’t write the script, since I thought the writing was terrible and miles away from Lees previous work.

I didn’t like this film, and I think the only reason it should be watched, is either to compare it to the original, or if you want to watch every film Spike Lee has directed.

But don’t expect a Spike Lee joint!

Oldboy
2003

Directed by Park Chan-wook
Starring: Choi Min-sik, Yoo Ji-tae, Kang Hye-jung

http://asiabeam.com/v/films/Oldboy/screenshots/Oldboy-shot-35

Now that I have rewatched the original film, I dislike the remake even more.
And I must say I am surprised since they kept so many elements from the original!
That apparently isn’t enough to make a good film though, specially if you change those elements so much into stereotypical oblivion.

http://www.pichaus.com/+oldboy/

Park Chan-wooks version has simply better; writing, character development, story lines, etc and it is all in all quite a gorgeous film.
It keeps you on the edge throughout.

It is interesting and intriguing, it has twists and even a touch of surrealism.
The acting is very good, and I still don’t know how he is able to create such realistic violence.
If you are into ultra violent and psychologically straining films I recommend you watch I saw the Devil.
And if you haven’t seen either of the Oldboy versions I’d recommend you watch the original first!

http://cuedotconfessions.blogspot.de/2013/01/the-personal-100-25-oldboy.html
It is really a good film, and I liked it just as much watching it the second time around than I did the first.

Eopenmarkets Luckybox revealed and reviewed

4:59 PM Moi Sanom 10 Comments

In my quest to try out as many Asian online skin care stores I found Eopenmarket, aka Cosmeticmarket2012.
Back in the summer of 2013 I purchased my TonyMoly Cats wink pact from them on their Ebay shop, and thought that their service was good.

Yes it is that adorable and also an amazing product!
Now a year later I heard that they had an online store were they sell Luckyboxes, a box full of sample sachets and deluxe samples costing only 6.80$.
I was intrigued of course, I mean a whole box of surprise samples!
Sounds too enticing not to try!
I ordered on the 13th, a Friday night of course!
Because as you might have noticed I love to order Asian cosmetics on Friday night...
It was Friday the 13th so I am not surprised this package turned out to be awesome!

http://giphy.com/gifs/thbk9kDakKi1G

I also reordered another Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Cream since I was running out.
The snail cream, the Lucky box plus shipping was just over 15$ which is pretty good in my book!

Cosmeticmarekt Luckybox
Luckybox with Mizon snail cream and  samples
To be honest, even though I have seen pictures of the previous Luckybox I wasn’t sure what to expect.
It arrived the 25th, here I need to note that I have had recent issues with my post office, they have horded my packages from the past 2 weeks and finally made them available for pick up to me that day.
So I can not for sure say that it arrived the 25th, either way if you consider they probably send it out Monday the 16th that is pretty fast!

Cosmeticmarekt Luckybox
The insides
The Luckybox came in a pink plastic bag , that is that exact shade of bright pink which is impossible to photograph.
When I opened it I saw a huge stack of samples and got all excited.
Unfortunately I had to wait to open it until the next day since it was already too dark to photograph it.

Cosmeticmarekt Luckybox
Deluxe samples inside the bubble wrap
So let me just list all of the products

Full size products:
Innisfree It’s real green tea mask

Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint in RD301 2x
Mizon Pore Refine Silky Essence 2x
Etude House Baking Powder Cleansing Foam 2x

Cosmeticmarekt Luckybox
So many goodies!
To be honest I am really happy with this sample box!
There were many oldies and many newies too.
Some things I have been wanting to try or even had in my cart before, but never bought them.
The only thing that seems a little bit illogical is to put in two deluxe samples of the Etude House cleansing oil for the same skin type.
But I can’t really complain since I really like that cleansing oil!
And the other thing is that I actually got 3 separate samples for buying the Mizon snail cream, which I find kind of sweet, after getting so many samples already.
I got:
Mizon Crystal Miracle Face cream
Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint in PK001
Etude House Super Collagen Moistfull cream

All in all I would recommend both the shop and the Luckybox, the shipping was very fast and the service was good.
The prices in the store are reasonable as well, even though I think shipping costs can get high fast if you buy heavy items.

Rating:
1.Blegh  2. Pff  3. Meh  4. Oohh  5. Awwyeah 6. Wooha
I give them 5 out of 6.
They would have gotten 6 if there would have been a better balance of deluxe samples and sachets.
I would have like to maybe see a travel set in there.

Purchased at Eopenmarket

If I ever manage to finish all these samples I would definitely order another Luckybox in the future.

Have you ordered the Luckybox before?
What did you get and did you like the contents?
Is there any product you would like me to review?

Woeful Windsday

Peripera Peri''s Tint Milk in #3 Milky lavender review

4:02 PM Moi Sanom 6 Comments

http://beautynetkorea.com/product/Peripera-Peri-s-Tint-Milk/KRPERIAA0001041/?main_cate_no=ADAC0000&display_group=1

Peripera Peri''s Tint Milk in Milky lavender

Like creamy milk this tint gently blends upon lips.Non-sticky texture blends easily without any blots.
Flower complex help give vitality to the lips.

Peripera Peri''s Tint Milk in #3 Milky lavender

I am not only obsessed with Burgundy things, but also with pastel colored things!
Pastel colors and cake!
One of my current (well it’s been 4 years now) make up obsessions have been Lavender colored blushes and Lip sticks.
As you can imagine both are rather hard to come by, but lucky me, the Pantone color of the year is Orchid, which is quite close to Lavender.
Now that this hue is fashionable, make up companies are actually creating Lavender colored make up products.

Peripera Peri''s Tint Milk in #3 Milky lavender

One of them is this Peripera lip tint.

I heard good things about this brand but never tried it before, and since I was dying to try a Lavender tint I thought I would give this one a shot.

Peripera Peri''s Tint Milk in #3 Milky lavender
It is so adorable!
The packaging is super adorable and I really love it, the tint looks almost neon on the wand though which didn’t make me love it so much anymore.

Peripera Peri''s Tint Milk in #3 Milky lavender
Doe foot applicator
The tints texture is milky and smooth, it applies evenly and easily.
The coverage is so-so on my dark lips.

Peripera Peri''s Tint Milk in #3 Milky lavender swatch
0 to 3 layers of tint

But it is very build able!
The only problem is, on me it wasn’t lavender but pink!
I mean it looks pretty and all, but I have pink lip products already and I wanted a Lavender one!

Peripera Peri''s Tint Milk in #3 Milky lavender
4 Layers and still not Lavender
So I was quite disappointed to be honest!

The lasting abilities are ridiculous though!
I applied the first test at around six and I woke up with pink lips!

Not even kidding.
I did apply about 5 layers to see if after layer 4 there was any change.

Nope!
But how did it last so long?
I had dinner and I applied lip balm like every 30 minutes!
Magic!

So if you want a pinky purple lip tint that gives you a natural rosy look, that is also very long lasting, this is it.

But if you are looking for a true Lavender lip tint and your lips aren’t super pale, then I am afraid you need to try something else.

Ingredients: Can't find it, let me know if you do

Rating: The quality of the tint is great, worth a 4 or maybe even a 5, but since it is suppose to be Lavender and it isn't, I gave it a 3.
1.Blegh  2. Pff  3. Meh  4. Oohh  5. Awwyeah 6. Wooha

I still really liked the Lavender looks so jumping pictures Hooray!

Did any of you guys find a Lavender colored Lip product?
If so, please share!

My Top Ten favorite Asian Cosmetics

2:49 PM Moi Sanom 7 Comments

I have been using Asian skin care and make up products for a while now, and I thought I should make a little compilation of my favorites. These are items that became instant hits or are long time favorites I have repurchased over and over.
I can not stress again and again how great Asian cosmetics have been for me, starting at the lower price to quality ratio and their amazing magic they have done to my face.
They won me over instantly with my first purchase and made me a convert and addict for life!
And here I present to you my Top 10 (11) favorite Asian Cosmetics:

Tony Moly Kiss lover live tint in #4 Vampire red
My favorite Lip tint to date.

It has the most gorgeous shade of Burgundy red and an incredible staying power.
It is easy to apply and layer.
Perfect for that vampy look, reviewed here

Face of the day Vampire Look
A candid dorky shot Johnny Clyde took of me, one of the few moments I wans't trying to act like animals
Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence
This product gets mixed reviews, some people love it some people hate it.
I have a love and hate relationship with Benton products, as I have told here, but this stuff is magic! No matter what weird moment my skin is going through, be it eczema or a bad reaction to another product, it always helps calm it down and heal it faster.
I have repurchased this already and know I will continue using it daily.
My mom has had almost miraculous results using Bentons snail line too, more on that coming up in the future.

Biore Moist Block Gel Lotion in Moist ex

I really love this stuff, and it is surprisingly underrated.

It is an ultra hydrating milky lotion.
A multi function product that is so hydrating it helped more than one face get out of a severe bout of drought.
When I apply this on my face, my skin feels instantly quenched and happy!

Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher in #8 Blueberry Pie

I love this blush!
I have been looking for a Lavender blush for a while, I used a MAC eye shadow to make up for it in a lighter purple shade, but it didn't really do the trick.
This blush is smooth and velvety, it is very layerable and gives you a nice blushed look while still accentuating paleness.

Face of the day Pastel Look
Lavender make up look using the Cookie blusher
Tony Moly Cats Wink Clear Pact
I was never a fan of powders since I have very dry and scaly skin, but now this is my must have make up face product of all time!

It goes on quite sheer, adding a tiny bit of brightness (aka the vampire touch), it diminishes my pores and evens out my face.
I honestly don’t know how it does that since it is quite sheer without exarberating my dry patches.
It makes my face look like a dolls face!
What more could I want from a powder?

Tony Moly Cat Chu Wink lip tint Red

This was the first tint I tried and the tint that made me fall in love with lip tints.

I have tried many since but this is still my favorite.
Cherry is a gorgeous pinkish red, but the pure red shade of this line is the best Vintage red color!
I like it even more than my Chanel Rouge Allure Laque in Dragon *gasp!*

Face of the day Dark Look
The perfect Vintage red
Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Mousse SPF50+ PA+++
This stuff is so awesome I wrote a whole love rant about it here
It will change your life and everyone should try it at least once!
I am now on a mission to find a better or equally good sunscreen, but I don’t know if that is even possible.

My Beauty Diary Sheet mask in Arbutin
I am not a big fan of sheet masks since I am lazy and prefer sleeping packs.

I have tried a few sheet masks though and this is the best I have tried so far and the only one that gives you instant results!
I have only one left I am saving to review in the perfect lighting conditions, since it is possible that the incredible results will not be visible on camera.
But seriously after using this your skin is so plump and bright it is astounding!

Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing Water
This is one of the Holy Grail items of my husband.

I just ordered him the third bottle.
I used to use it as a sole cleanser for him at a time when I foolishly believed he hated foam cleanser (he loves them), but now I use it instead of a toner.
This is the product that keeps him practically blemish free!
I had several occasions when I didn’t take it on holiday with us and he started breaking out, two days after using it again his faced went back to its blemish free state.
I don’t know what is in this miracle product but it does wonders for him.
He has sensitive skin and my skin is very dry and it works great for both of us, non drying and non irritating.
Another underrated product in my opinion!

Civil War reenactment
Handsome and blemish free!
Nature Republic Snail therapy 80 Emulsion
I received this as a sample recently from a friend and it is one of those very few products I tried once and thought, oh I am in heaven!

The sample lasted me 2 weeks and I have 2 more coming in the mail to make a more extensive review.
But lets just say it is the second item I have ever used that made my face smooth and unscaly!
And this is not even a moisturizer!
I think this is a god send for people with dry skin, but light enough for any skin type, maybe not oily unless it is wintertime.
My friend also really liked this product and she has combination skin.
This one went straight to my Holy Grail of face awesomeness list!

Update: Review here

Bonus item:

Etude House Super Collagen CC cream
This stuff is awesome!
It is very liquid so it is easy to apply, it blends in flawlessly and gives you more coverage than most CC creams but less than a BB cream, while feeling weightless on your face.
It actually provides moisture to my super dry face, and Mother became an instant fan when she started using it.
More extensive review here until, mini review here.

What are your Holy Grail, Oh my god I can't live without this, this changed my life and I will buy it forever and ever products?

Roseroseshop revealed and reviewed

2:42 PM Moi Sanom 4 Comments

Today I am back to show you the latest goodies I got from Roseroseshop.
Even though I have reviewed them before a few things have changed since and I wanted to update you guys on that.

They still have great prices and reasonable shipping but some of my previous complaints have disappeared since they made some improvements to their store.

You no longer have to ask for samples for example, but they are now added to anyone's order.
Yippeeeee!
http://www.memecenter.com/fun/2023515/free-samples

I also wrote them about the issue I had that they don’t tell you in advanced if an item is sold out or not, and just send out your parcel anyways.
They informed me that you can message them through their customer service and ask which items are still in stock.
I have done so with this order, and one item was indeed sold out that same day so I could switch to a different one before ordering.
I just placed an order with them a few days ago and asked them again if everything was in stock, by the time they got back to me (next morning) one item was already sold out when I wanted to order.

Neatly packed items as always
Why are you so elusive little Kakapo? I feel like trying to buy one of these little hand creams is just as difficult as going to New Zealand and spotting one in nature.
This is the second time i try getting another one but they seem to sell out the same day!

http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/wiredscience/2014/03/Kakapo-2.jpg
Hello little Kakapo!
Roseroseshops customer service has been super nice to me so far, even with my complaints, and they have gotten back to me within 24 hours of writing them an email.

Recently they have also introduced free shipping items!
Did you know they had surprise sample boxes?
I did, and honestly don’t know why I haven’t gotten one, seeing my obsession with samples.
Either way those sample boxes have free shipping now, and at the moment so do all Mizon items!

This store seriously lures me in every time! And I am trying to buy from a bigger variety of stores, but I can’t resist...

Second layer
I ordered on the 25th of April and they shipped the order on the 29th, as always I seem to order on Friday nights so that is pretty fast packing there.
This time I decided to order with EMS shipping, since I bought some things for Mother too and splitting the shipping was worth it.
Of course the parcel got stuck in customs so it took a little longer then 5 days to get to me.
Berlin customs are a pain!
I received the online confirmation that my package was here on the 5th but didn’t get the customs paper to pick it up until the 7th.
Either way I had my goodies by the 8th which is just over one week from the shipping date.
Not bad at all considering the circumstances.

To be honest though, their regular shipping takes around two weeks so I will probably continue to get the cheapest shipping from now on.

And these are all my little pretties!
I lied half of those are for Mother

So many goodies!
And as a nice surprise besides the regular samples bag I also got free Missha BB cream Cleansing Tissues!

What I ordered:

I guess we will have to see...
