My love and hate relationship with Benton Products aka Why I now have PIH!

After my great success with the Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence and Steam cream (see here), I decided to give the BHA Toner and Propolis gel a try.
In case you didn’t know, I do have very picky skin.
It’s like it hates mostly everything I put on it, but then every once in a while it’s like “hey I love that give me more”, and even sometimes then, it changes its mind and decides not to want that product anymore.
I am lucky that the fussiness of my skin is usually not visual (aka no break outs), since I was blessed with my fathers smooth skin. But I can feel when my skin isn’t happy, mostly by different levels of pain and itchiness.
Yes it is dehydrated and yes it is dry, and since I suffered from eczema most of my life it is also sensitive.
But for some reason I have never broken out after using a product, well, until now!
I was so very excited to start the new Benton products in conjunction with the rest of the Benton line I had been using.

I had high hopes for more moisture and maybe finally to get rid of that one hyper pigmentation scar that has been bugging me for the past 4 months.
Oh boy was i wrong!
In my bliss of trying out a new moisturizer that felt pretty amazing the first 2 days of usage, I was lured into thinking that nothing in this world could make my face feel better then the combo of said wonder moisturizer in conjunction with the Benton products!

Morning number 2, I had more red spots on my cheeks and thus I stopped using the moisturizer I thought was the culprit.
Morning number 3, the red spots on my cheeks mutated into pimples overnight and my skin got itchier by the day.
Now you might wonder why I stuck with using the toner and gel after that evidence?
Well I was a fool, I was!
I decided to stick with the Benton products for an entire week to see what would happen.
Well nothing good that's for sure!
The day after the cut off, my cheeks improved already and now 5 days after, I only have 2 little left over pimples on my cheeks to speak of.

There is rumors it might be the aloe or the hollyhocks, it might be that my skin hates me this week, I might never know.
But hey maybe they will do miracles on my husbands skin?
Of course they didn’t!
My husband finished the rest of my samples, which lasted about a week.
The first 2 days it seemed like everything was good, but then by the 3rd day until the 7th day my husband got more and more spots!
He got lucky and they didn’t leave any PIH on him.
Unlike me, the one PIH I had when I started the treatment mutated into 4.

Rating: The reason why I give this a Blegh is because I have heard of a lot of other people getting bad reaction to these two products. One of those testimonial can be read here.There is of course many people who love there products, like this review, so if you are interested in this product I recommend getting a sample first and patch testing it.
