LJH Tree Tree 90 Essence review

LJH Tree Tree 90 Essence (20ml)

The organic tea tree oil made from 90% tea tree extract subdues acne, heals troubled areas, and brightens the overall skin tone. Key ingredients include sea buckthorn and centella asiatica, known to delay skin aging process and speed the recovery of damaged tissue.
How to use: After cleansing, lightly massage two drops on your face. Apply more drops on troubled areas.

LJH Tree Tree 90 Essence review
The tea tree essence comes in a carton box

I received this Essence in the Memebox Lucky box 2.
Memebox is a Korean beauty box, which delivers various types of different boxes that can be purchased individually when released.

I usually don’t have problems with spots but when I received this box my husband and I were still fighting the break out we got after using a certain product.
So I thought since our skin can’t really get any worse we might as well give this essence a try.

LJH Tree Tree 90 Essence review
The bottle was wrapped in plastic, which I took off at this point
This stuff is good!
I have dry skin and have huge problems finding anything that I can use against spots without drying my skin out even more.
The consistency is very liquid and sinks in very fast.
It is practically odorless and one drop is enough to cover my whole face!

LJH Teatree 90 essence gif
Very watery
This essence not only helped me get over that last hurdle and heal my spots faster, it also finally kept new ones from coming!

My husbands skin is normal but leans on the sensitive side, this essence works great for him as well! No irritation!
Not only did it normalize his skin after the product incident, but it has since kept his skin practically clear!

After 3 weeks I have stopped using the essence since I have no more spots.
But my husband is still using it and his skin is looking great.

Now we just have Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation to fight with!

So stay tuned on how we deal with those little buggers and what miracle products we found to make our besties PIH disappear.

Rating: I am torn between 5 and 6. I would give it a six but the essence promises to moisturize and whiten and I didn’t see any of those claims come true. It is excellent at keeping spots at bay though, so 5.5 it shall be!

Beautynetkorea reviewed and revealed

9:58 AM Moi Sanom 5 Comments

I heard a lot of good things about Beautynetkorea, but what was being said the most was how generous they are with their samples!
Since I love me some samples, I decided to give them a try.

They have regular sales, 1+1 deals, and happened to have one of the best prices for an item I needed to stock up on, the Mizon Snail recovery gel cream.

Elwood is as excited as I am about the new package!
I ordered on the 4th of April which was a Friday night and it was shipped on the 7th the following Monday.
They have a free shipping option without tracking, but I decided to go with spending an extra 2.50$ for a tracking number.
When you order on their site you only pay for the order, they contact you later via Paypal to pay the 2.50 for the shipping cost.
I received my order on the 22nd of April, if you count from when the order was put in, the whole shipping time was under 3 weeks, which is absolutely acceptable. Specially considering that orders within Europe sometimes take 1-2 weeks to get here.

They package their items in bubble wrap and ship them in a box. The bubble wrap was a little thrown together specially if you compare it to shops like Roseroseshop, where they wrap each item in multiple layers of bubbles and tape it together.

The legends are true though! They send many many samples!

This is my samples dance!
And what I specially like, is that they send more then one sample of the same item, since sometimes a single sachet isn’t really enough to try a product.

Products purchased:
Mizon Snail recovery gel cream 2x
Tonymoly - Kiss lover live tint in vampire red (reviewed here)

Free samples:
Tony Moly Luminous Aura CC cream
Etude House Baby Choux base in green 3x
Etude House Face Conditioning cream 2x

On this particular order I spent less than 20$ and I received 6 samples, which is pretty generous.
Besides the haphazardous wrapping, I really like Beautynetkorea and can only recommend shopping from them.
I have already ordered from them again and I am still a very satisfied customer.

Etude House A to Z Mask Sheet No.Hyaluronic Acid review

Etude House I need you A to Z Mask Sheet No.Hyaluronic Acid (20ml)

26 types of facial masks  that treat all your skincare concerns with an array of  ingredients by alphabet  A-Z
• 26 types of mask sheet (+ one limited edition)
Mix and match these mask sheets to take care of your skin concerns, such as, dryness, lacking of elasticity, dullness
*How about a gift of all the alphabets in your loved one’s name?!
• Face and environment friendly sheet
Sheets made of Alphacon, corn fiber and natural pulp cover your skin perfectly and discompose naturally when buried for the environment
  • Richly Moisturizing
  • Highly hydrating and keeping skin moist

Now some of you might be going, Sheet mask....what is Sheet mask?
Is that a new breed of household wallaby?
No its a beauty item, duh!
Just kidding it is totally a new breed of wallaby.
If wallabies would be little face shaped sheets of cotton, soaked in an incredible amount of skin care goodness!
Honestly I dont know how long sheet masks have been around, but the first time I read about them, they seemed so obscure and strange I had to try them out immediately.

So as mentioned above they are usually made out of some kind of cotton or soft fiber and are soaked with essence or serum.
There is a million and one types out there. Almost every Asian skin care brand has them and I have even seem them in some European drugstores by now.
Some people use them every once in a while, and some use them every other day.
It is really personal preference.
I am not a huge sheet mask fan, since I prefer sleeping packs or wash of masks, also I never seem to have enough so I always save them for special occasions, which never happen.

I love the tiny How to Illustration on the back!
Today I am reviewing one of Etude Houses A - Z masks.
They are super cheap and so pretty to look at.
I chose Hyaluronic acid because my face is super dry and when I tried this out, my face was going through one of those periods of drought that leads to severe itchiness.

The mask is super duper moist!
It drips a teeny tiny bit, but mostly down your throat so you can just smear it around your neck. (That sounds so attracting!)
It is made out of very nice soft quality material, and was neither a horrible fit nor a bad fit.
But I don't even know if there is sheet masks out there that fit someones face perfectly, so I guess the fit was just fine.

I recommend running around crowded areas while wearing it :)
I left it on for about 45 minutes. It was still slightly moist by that time but I just got bored of sitting still.
I am really impressed how soaked this mask was though!
When I was done I emptied the little baggy and there was enough essence in there that my husband could cover his face with it. (When I gave it to him he shouted "What are these, your leftovers?!")

As for effectiveness, it was suppose to hydrated and that it did.
It was refreshing and very mild smelling.
I didn't get any reactions from it or any new eczema, just moisture.
It stopped my face from itching for the next 2 days which is pretty fantastic!

Before the sheet mask left, right: plump and hydrated skin afterwards!
I would definitely recommend these to anyone.
It isn’t a miracle product but very nice, specially considering the price!

Johnny Clyde reviews: Missha Natural Konjac Cleansing Puff review

2:27 PM Moi Sanom 2 Comments

http://www.misshaus.com/missha-natural-konjac-cleansing-puff-bamboo-charcoal.html

Missha Natural Konjac Cleansing Puff in Bamboo Charcoal
Use this pure botanical jelly cleansing puff when washing face.
The puff is gentle and has a massaging effect. Bamboo charcoal helps absorb sebum for a full deep cleansing effect.
It clears pores and removes dead skin cells.
Also contains minerals and nutrients.
It is suitable for oily and troubled skin types.
How to use:
Wet cleansing puff.
Apply cleanser on skin or directly on puff.
Use soft jelly cleansing puff by lightly massaging skin in a circular motion.
After use, squeeze out the water from the puff and dry it in airy, dry place.

So today I'll be reviewing my conny-yak sponge. So the legend goes, a business man was walking through a forest when a yak came and offered to be his friend. The yak, ended up being in it only for the money, and conned the business man out of all his money. The business man, furious, exclaimed "momma didn't raise no chump!" and through a really gross process I won't go into, he turned that conny-yak into a sponge.
That I love.
Mines black!

Missha Natural Konjac Cleansing Puff
Aurora can't wait to use her sponge!
I got my sponge so that I have an easier, and more efficient way to clean my face every day.
The texture on this thing is so nice on my skin.
I freaked out for a bit when my wife told me it's alive. But apparently what she meant is that it was alive, as roots of a plant.
Which is pretty cool, because I used to rub plant roots on my face anyways, and now it has a point. And feels a lot better.

Missha Natural Konjac Cleansing Puff
Up: Dry sponge;  Below: Wet sponge
Using the sponge feels great because of it's efficiency.
Usually I just use my hands to wash my face, but after using this sponge I will never do that again. The lather on the sponge applies to my face with so much ease, it wouldn't make sense going back to my fingers.
Plus washing something with the thing you're washing feels weird. You're not supposed to fight skin with skin.
Missha Natural Konjac Cleansing Puff gif
Spongy!
The sponge shrivels up over night when you don't use it, as all sponges do. But in no time at all
water brings it back to it's super soft amazing feeling state.
Since it is a completely natural product it needs to be replaced every 4 - 6 weeks or so.
But that just gives me an excuse to try out many different conny-yak sponges!

Mois thoughts:
I really like this little thing. Not only does my husband love it, but it really is useful for washing face masks off your face. It is super soft and gentle and does what it promises.
The only thing is that I don't think it exfoliates my skin at all. But I have very flaky skin so maybe it is just me.

A Fantastic Fear of Everything
2012
written and directed by Crispian Mills
starring: Simon Pegg, Clare Higgins, Amara Karan, Paul Freeman

http://nomnomovies.blogspot.de/2014/02/ladybug-from-fantastic-fear-of.html

I had high hopes for this film!
Judging by the poster, the title and the actors, I thought that this must be somehow amazing.
And I wasn’t wrong!
I select my films by the above mentioned criteria, including directors, writers and personal recommendations, since I don’t read synopses or watch trailers.
I guess that explains a little bit how I review the films I watch.
I try to tell you nothing, since nothing is what I want to know going into a new movie.

http://www.wrzko.eu/a-fantastic-fear-of-everything-2012-1080p-bluray-x264-brmp/#.U3d5vSgXKbc

Anywho, this film is absolutely gorgeous! I am not going to lie, there is this forest wallpaper in the film which I squealed over for 5 minutes each time it appeared.
Yes I love wallpaper!

Besides being a gorgeous film the plot is very interesting too!
It grabbed me in the first 3 minutes of watching it, well ok in the title sequence even!
I do love narrated films anyways and that together with the design made for a very grabbing few minutes. Of course it doesn’t stop there, it is funny and interesting, and surprisingly not predictable.
I mean what more does one want of a film?
I really loved it and it is such a shame how overlooked it is.
This is a hidden gem of a film that I think is a must see for everyone

And here I leave you with a little story animation from the film:

Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Mousse SPF50+ PA+++ aka Holy grail Sunscreen review

11:06 AM Moi Sanom 4 Comments

Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Mousse SPF50+ PA+++

Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Mousse SPF50+ PA+++ (33gr)

With SPF 50+/PA+++, Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Mousse provides strong and long-lasting double protection against UVA and UVB rays. It contains Aqua Micro Capsules which release ‘water-like’ moisture, leaving skin feeling light, cool, healthy and hydrated. Its texture is non-sticky and non-greasy while it spreads easily and is quickly absorbed by skin. It works as a smooth makeup base to prepare skin for the makeup regimen.

My first Holy Grail review!

http://giphy.com/search/adventure-time/7

So I am one of those people who is part of the “I hate Sunscreen club”!
Being biracial I never felt the need to protect myself from burning since that never really happened, so I just accepted the natural protection powers of my skin and decided that since sunscreen is gross and I don’t burn there is really no point in using it.

Then I started getting tattoos, and of course those need to be protected from the sun!
So I bit the bullet and used the dreaded ‘screen but only on my tattooed areas of course.
And then I started reading more into skin care, and the whys and hows of certain products and ingredients.
Well, when I read several articles and studies on the importance sun protection plays on aging, and that even starting to protect your skin later in life is really the best anti aging prevention, I started seeking out something I can use on my face.

Left sun damaged and right undamaged skin
I mean how else will I ever achieve the appearance of an immortal if I don’t use sun protection.
Yeah my reasoning anyways.

Immortal. Forever!
The problem was, western sunscreens were still completely gross on my face!
Sticky, oily, thick, heavy AND I have extremely dry skin!
Oh yeah let’s not even talk about the dreaded white cast!
At the time I was a lot tanner then now, and a white cast is no pretty thing on a brown person...

This was my regular skin color before I got sick and stayed out of the sun completely since
So I finally discovered Asian skin care, and read so many reviews on how sunscreen, specially Japanese sunscreen, is the bomb!
I played around using a few products here and there, until I decided to get my first tube of Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Mousse.

I'm about half way through my tube
And when I first smeared this stuff on my face

http://cheezburger.com/6688912640
yes, it is that good!
First off it is a super smooth and lightweight sort of lotion, that leans on the watery side.
But watery as in liquidy not watery as in moist.

You can tell it is more on the liquid side since it doesn't hold a shape
On my dry skin it provides no moisture, but it also doesn’t take any away!
When you apply it, it melts into your skin and leaves no white cast what so ever!

Tada! No white cast, semi matte finish
I have quite an extensive beauty routine and I decided to apply this product last, since I have read that one can either apply it as a first step after cleansing or a last step after moisturizing.
I use 5-7 products in the morning and I wait about 30 minutes or longer before applying this sunscreen and so far it has been working great!

So for all you sunscreen haters out there, give this stuff a try. It will change your lives!

A very interesting article on sun damage

A few tips and tricks on how to find out your skin type

1:20 PM Moi Sanom 2 Comments

I wish it would be as easy as saying you have dry, oily, normal or combination skin.
There are these types and many factors which can influence the skin and blur the lines.

Sometimes we think we have a certain skin type, but then we use products that make our skin seem completely different then what it actually is, because the products are not suitable for us.
Those products also might be worsening problems we are trying to fight.
Skin can also change from different weather conditions or a change in diet and even stress.

That adult acne you have been fighting might be a reaction to certain products your skin doesn't like
The first thing I would recommend to find out what skin type you have is to cut down your routine to the absolute basics for about 5-7 days.
Start with a gentle hydrating cleanser, a light non astringent toner and a moisturizer for sensitive or normal skin. And don't forget the sunscreen!

Wash your face and then wait for about 1-2 hours.

Is your face dry, rough and itchy? Or does it maybe feel really tight?
That could mean that your skin is dry to very dry.

Does your face feel completely fine without any extra oils or discomfort?
 It could be normal skin.

Does your face feel normal on your cheeks but a little oily on your forehead, nose and chin?
Probably Combination skin.

Is it oily all over?
Sounds like oily skin to me.

A great way to determine the difference between normal and combo skin or combo and oily, is to press a tissue too your clean face after waiting for 2 hours and see how much oil is left on the tissue. If there is none or hardly any you probably have normal skin. If there is a little bit of oil on your T zone you probably have combination skin. If the tissue is quite oily so it gets almost translucent you have oily skin.

Then there is all kinds of other things to factor in, like dehydrated, sensitive, acne prone, eczema prone, sun damaged, or over exfoliated skin.
Any of these can affect all of the above mentioned skin types, even though some are more affected then others.

Whatever skin type you have they all follow one rule: the skin needs to be hydrated and you need to use sunscreen everyday.
Every skin type needs hydration even oily skin, the deficiency of hydration can cause all kinds of problems, including more acne and even over production of sebum.

http://gretalrabbit.blogspot.de/2014/04/how-i-manage-my-eczema-flare-ups.html

Sunscreen is not only important to protect your skin from cancer but also from sun damage.
Sun damage is the number one factor why our skin ages.
Studies have shown that even if you are in your 40s, 50s or even older, daily use of sunscreen will prevent further damage.
So instead of buying fancy anti aging creams with miracle claims, find a good sunscreen that protects from both UVA and UVB rays, suitable for your skin type. This will not only save you some money but also make you have younger skin in the future!

http://kirstybisset.com/blogs/tusc-treat-you-well-with-their-treatments/110

Keep in mind that you might have to use different products for different needs.
If you have combination type skin and occasional pimples, but all of your products are for acne prone and or oily skin, trying to fight those damned pimples, it might be too much for your combo skin.
It might make your dry areas drier from all the acne fighting chemicals, and make your oily areas oilier since your skin is being stripped too much of its own sebum and it starts to overcompensate.
It is best to find a good balance of products too keep your skin hydrated and problem free, which ever one that is, there is something out there for you!

Some things to keep in mind:

Natural doesn’t always mean better and chemicals don't always mean worse.

Price doesn't necessarily reflect the quality of a product.

Keep the PH of your skin in mind and don’t apply products that are too acidic or alkaline, either will mess with the natural barrier of your skin and can cause different types of problems.
Stay away from things like, lemon juice, vinegar and baking soda which seem to be some of the more popular natural product that are not good for your skin.

The things you think might be black heads on your nose and cheeks are probably sebaceous filaments, they sure are unpleasant but are completely normal, also most blackhead fighting products don’t work on them.

http://www.socialanxietysupport.com/forum/f24/getting-rid-of-blackheads-692954/

Beware of western acne products, many of them are quite harsh, especially the ones for oily skin.
They will strip your skin unnecessarily.
Check your ingredients list for things like alcohol, menthol, too thick and waxy creams (unless you have dry skin) natural type scrubbing agents (most have jagged edges or are too harsh for your skin), and fragrance.
You don’t need to banish them forever, but make sure they are not high up on the ingredients list.
And sometimes buying products for sensitive skin will just give your face the holiday it needs from all the harsh ingredients it gets on a daily basis. Once you have determined none of these give you any issues you can proceed to use skincare that contains them.

Beware: Just because it says hypoallergenic or suitable for sensitive skin does not mean it is so. Once again read your ingredients list and make sure they really are gentle, if you aren't ingredient savvy there is plenty of info on pages like Cosdna.com which can do the work for you.

There is a lot more in depth info in the world wide web if you are interested in more details, and I am always happy to answer any questions or give you a one on one consultation.

Testimonial of a recently converted

5:10 AM Moi Sanom 0 Comments

I recently started giving people one on one skin care consultations.
I try to adapt myself as much as possible to the persons situation when giving product recommendations, but since Asian products are my products of choice, they are the ones I end up recommending the most.
When I started talking to one of my first skin care victims about how the new routine was going for her, we thought that her experience might be interesting for you guys out there, who are considering taking the plunge.

I present to you Katrien, victim number one, she lives in Belgium and had her first consultation with me April 12th.
After 2 weeks of doing a Korean skin care routine
How did you hear about Asian skin care and what caught your attention?
I read about Asian skin care for the first time on your blog.
After reading some posts on your blog, I googled some more info on the Korean skin care routine and I couldn’t believe the changes and results people were talking about. So I decided to give it a try but didn’t know where to start, that’s how I ended up consulting you. :)

What was your previous Beauty routine and why were you looking for a change?
My previous routine consisted of a gel cleanser, rosewater toner, a serum, eye cream and moisturizer.
I wanted a change because I simply felt that my old products weren’t working.
My skin looked oily in some areas and dry in others while it still felt tight and dehydrated.
Also last year I got some pigment spots after being in the sun and they keep coming back.
The products that were prescribed and recommended to me by the dermatologists were too harsh or not working.

Did you feel like this consultation helped you in any way?
Absolutely!
If it wasn’t for the consultation I would have ended up with all the wrong products.
There are so many sites with hundreds of products and I made a list with stuff I wanted to buy.
After the consultation I ended up ordering completely different products than the ones on my list.
I tend to buy products for oily and blemished skin but thanks to the consultation I know those are wrong for my skin.

Where did you purchase the recommended products and how was your experience ordering online?
I’ve ordered from koreadepart.com, beautynetkorea.com and roseroseshop.com.  The ordering process went smoothly and I received my goodies way sooner than I thought I would.
Also I really enjoyed all the samples that came with my order.
There were so many! Especially from beautynetkorea.
A real treat!
Thanks to the samples I found some more products I really like and that I’m going to try next.

What was the best case scenario you imagined would happen with your new routine?
I would have been happy with a good cleanser and moisturizer. I didn’t really have much faith in the brightening effects of the products.

What is your new routine and which is your favorite part?
In the morning I cleanse my face with the Etude House Milky You foam cleanser, followed by The Face Shop Arsainte Eco - Therapy Extreme Moisture tonic , the Benton Snail Bee High Content essence, Nuxe prodigieux eye cream (my regular brand), Nature Republic Bee Venom cream and sunscreen (Avene).

In the evening I use the Innisfree Apple Juicy cleansing oil to remove make up, then I use the same foam cleanser, tonic, the Its Skin Power 10 Formula LI Effector brightening essence, eye cream and Nature Republic Bee Venom cream.  Every other day I use the Tony Moly Intense Care Dual Effect sleeping pack.
It’s brightening and moisturizing.

New Routine
What were the biggest changes you noticed with the new products?
My skin feels much softer, my pores are a lot smaller and cleaner, overall my skin is more radiant and the brightening products really do brighten and make your skin tone more even.
My skin feels moisturized without looking oily.
I had some fine dry lines under my eyes and they are disappearing too even though I’ve been using eye creams for years.

What are your top 3 favorite items you ordered and why?
Well the Benton snail bee high content essence was the first product that I introduced to my new skin care regime and I noticed results in my skin tone and pores straight away. It makes my skin look radiant.

Another one is the Innisfree apple juicy cleansing oil because it does such a great job of cleansing and it’s so soft and moisturizing.

The third one is the Tony Moly intense care dual effect sleeping pack because it makes my skin looks fresh, hydrated and awake when I wake up. It does wonders for my under eye dry lines.

I really like all the products I ordered.

What do you plan to work on from now on in regards to your skin?
I’m going to continue using these products to achieve moisturized, radiant and bright skin.
I already have a few new products on the list that I want to try.
I’ll definitely keep my eye out for products with brightening effects.

"I love using Korean skin care"
Any tips or tricks for other non or newly converted?
I’d say…definitely try a Korean skin care routine.
It will change your life cause these products work miracles!
However I would advise to definitely consult someone who knows more about these products and have a skin consultation.
That way you can get the right products for your skin type.

And two more question which will be answered 2 months after starting the new Asian skin care routine, and a new after picture will be added too.

What is your routine like now 2 months after starting?
Have you noticed any more changes?

I will probably do a few more of these testimonials so you guys can see how much a skin care routine change, with or without Asian skin care, can make a difference on someone’s skin, even for the less cosmetically inclined.

If you are interested in a one on one consultation just leave a comment, or message me through Facebook or email.

Which movie am I gonna watch tonight?

Gangster Squad
2013
directed by Ruben Fleischer
starring: Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Nick Nolte, Emma Stone, Sean Penn

Johnny Clyde is reviewing today's selection, enjoy the crappiest film of 2013!

Gangster Squad is a movie. Gangster Squad is a movie that has actors in it, and was shot using a camera, and there is dialogue and stunts.
That is literally the best thing I can say about Gangster Squad.
My wife and I decided to call it Gangster Squid and give most of the actors appropriate fish names for no reason, which is not even really funny, but I will continue to call it Gangster Squid anyways.

Ryan Moss-ling and Josh Blowfish-lin
Sean Finn
Anyways, this movie is just garbage.
I love Ryan Gosling much more than the next guy, but even his acting was just awful.
Sean Penn moped around like he was doing a bad Little Nicky impression....Just...everyone.
All around, great job at doing terrible everyone.
The dialogue was a complete joke.
The story is ridiculously predictable.

Yeah, boredom!
The fire is always white (I don't really care I just can't think of more things to complain about.) ummm, pretty sure it made my popcorn taste bad.
Gangster Squid almost ruined my marriage (it didn't) and I stepped on a bug on my way back to the car.
Coincidence?
You decide.
Also, Sean Penn claims to be Santa Clause, which is clearly a lie.
Because Santa doesn't usually try to murder people, he lets his toys do the dirty work.

"Here comes Santa Clause"
